IBM Q3 '06 Revenue Up 47% from Q3 '05

IBM has revealed the third-quarter 2006 earnings of USD 1.45 per share from continuing operations, an increase of 54 percent as reported, compared with diluted earnings of USD 0.94 per share in the third quarter of 2005; the third-quarter 2005 diluted earnings include USD 0.32 per share for a one-time charge of USD 525 million for taxes in connection with the 2005 repatriation of foreign earnings. Diluted earnings per share for the third-quarter 2006 grew 15 percent compared with the year-ago quarter of USD 1.26 per diluted share, without the one-time per share charge.
