Microsoft Launches Online Mapping Service

Microsoft has upgraded its online mapping service. The new service, 'Virtual Earth 3D', integrates Live Search properties of its conventional mapping service and photorealism, the company said.

According to Microsoft the service will allow users to search, browse and explore with a 3 Dimensional view of 15 US cities and generate 3-D models for accuracy. Users can choose between the two-dimensional views, aerial or birds-eye views, and the three-dimensional interface. They could also use the existing map services, such as business listings, white pages, traffic information and driving directions, on any of the interfaces.
