Storage Accounts for 15% of Data Center Budget at Fortune 1000 Organisations

"For the last four Waves of research, installed storage capacity in the Fortune 1000 has doubled every ten months. It is an astonishing rate, with staffing and backup administration struggling to keep up," stated Robert Stevenson, Managing Director of TheInfoPro’s Storage Sector. Furthermore, the percentage of the Fortune 1000 data center budget dedicated to storage has also seen a rapid increase. According to the most recent research report, almost 50% of the Fortune 1000 organisations interviewed stated that storage occupies more than 15% of their data centre budget, with consolidation and virtualisation strategies ranking high among the Fortune 1000 as the top cost-saving storage initiatives.
