Chinese President to Speak on Behalf of Chinese Telecom Firms

Chinese President Hu Jintao, who is coming to India today on a four day visit is likely to talk on behalf of Chinese telecom companies such as Huawei and ZTE that are being barred from bidding for government telecom contracts or manufacture in India.

India has barred many Chinese companies from bidding for telecom and ports contracts citing security reasons and also for reasons that Chinese companies are controlled by the Government and he Army and hat these companies have significant presence in Pakistan and Afghanistan, where it is said it worked with the Taliban government.
