Sony Ericsson 4Q Net Profit Triples

Japanese-Swedish mobile phone company Sony Ericsson has posted record fourth-quarter earnings. It believes the market for mobile phones is steadily escalating.

The company’s 2006 pretax profit was euro 1.3 billion (USD 2.15 billion), more than double the euro 512 million (USD 846.4 million) of 2005.
