Sony, Samsung Join Hands in LCD Venture

Ailing Japanese consumer elecronics company Sony has joined hands with its long time adversary Samsung to launch S-LCD, a LCD panel joint venture.

"Depending on the demand for large-screen LCD TV sets, it is quite feasible that we will make additional investments and boost the capacity," Sony executive deputy president Katsumi Ihara said.
